Slack AI Automation
A human-in-the-loop Slack-based automation for approving sales deals with pricing or contract exceptions. An agent gathers and structures the deal information, and deterministic rules identify the required approvers.
Problem
Non-standard sales deals often require additional approval because of pricing, payment terms, contract language, or other exceptions. I built a Slack-based workflow that gathers that information conversationally and turns it into a structured approval request.
Approach
Claude handles the conversation and extracts the deal data. Deterministic Python rules determine the required approval roles. A human makes the final decision, and the resulting action is recorded in Postgres with an auditable history.
Evaluation
I tested the complete workflow across 30 simulated conversations covering different policy conditions and adversarial behavior. Twenty-nine produced the exact required approver set, none under-escalated, and all 11 adversarial cases passed.
